THE WHIFF PHILOSOPHY
WHIFF GOODS is all about handmade bath, body, and home products with a little more adventure, honesty, and less reliance on tired gendered branding. Things that go on your body or in your home should have as much personality as you do. WHIFF uses no fussy language, no complicated ingredients, and no pointlessly gendered products. Each product page contains easy to understand descriptions with charts that describe the unique properties of each item.
WHIFF is also a brand for people who embrace change and enjoy trying new things. There will always be core items that will be mainstays in our store, but the freedom to try out new fragrances and raw ingredients is part of the fun of making things by hand! Small batch items will pop up frequently, and once they sell out, they may be gone for good! There might even be discount mystery items from time to time in various categories for those who like to live spontaneously! Though the products may change, you can always rely on our dedication to simple quality ingredients, cheeky names, and goods that feel and smell amazing.

I’m Brandon Dean, artist and one-man factory of WHIFF GOODS. I was born in Montgomery, AL and currently live and work in Cleveland, OH. I have had a passion for handmade bath and body products for over 15 years, and slowly started making items for my personal use. That slowly grew into making more handmade beard-oils and soaps than I knew what to do with, so I started gifting things to family and friends. After much testing and feedback from my willing guinea pigs, WHIFF GOODS was born.

What are your products made of?
WHIFF GOODS products use natural ingredients wherever possible. That means for our soaps, we are using natural food grade oils, and plant based waxes and butters. Colorants all come either from the raw ingredients themselves, or natural colorants like colored micas, dried herbs and spices, activated charcoal, and other skin safe mineral pigments.
What about fragrances?
Fragrances utilize essential oils or natural sources whenever possible, unless there is a specific fragrance profile that is not achievable or feasible via essential oil or natural source. Some common essential oils are actually skin irritants in certain applications, so some fragrance blends have elements from synthetic origin that are tested as skin safe while achieving the familiar scent.
Not to get overly technical, but some fragrance molecules are more environmentally sustainable to synthesize from a different natural source than their marketing namesake. So WHIFF is always trying to balance what is safe, what is sustainable, and what just smells good!
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS VEGAN?
Yes! All WHIFF GOODS products are vegan, meaning no product contains animal byproducts in the raw ingredients or fragrances, nor are any fragrances tested on animals. All WHIFF products use plant based oils, butters, and waxes, as well as plant and mineral based add-ins like charcoal, lemon balm, micas and spices.
Can WHIFF make special orders?
Sure! Just use the form on the contact page and let me know what are thinking, and we can get the process started on making your idea a reality. WHIFF products are small batch (I’m just one guy, with the help of a few pals), so we recommend reaching out if a particularly large quantity of a single item is desired. Lead times vary by product. Reach out if you have any questions.
WHERE CAN I FIND YOUR PRODUCTS?
WHIFF does not have a brick and mortar location (yet!) so you can find available stock here or at an in-person artisan and maker markets scheduled in the Cleveland area throughout the year.
